Music Theory Lessons in Melbourne
I have been teaching music from my Melbourne home studio since 1992, and I also teach online music theory lessons via Zoom. As a working composer, producer and educator, I make theory practical and musical – not dry. Lessons are tailored to your level and goals, covering reading music and rhythm, scales and keys, intervals, chords and harmony, ear training, and the fundamentals of composition and arranging. Music theory is the fastest way to level up as a player, and I also coach students preparing for AMEB theory and VCE Music exams.

Music Theory Books: Master Your Theory Series

Tuition Payment Methods
Payments for weekly pay-as-you-go students must be made in cash at the beginning of each lesson. Term fees must be paid in full by the first lesson of the term. Accepted payment methods: Cash, EFT, or credit card (Visa & MasterCard only). A 2% processing fee applies to credit card payments. If you earn income from music, your music theory lessons may be tax-deductible. Check with your accountant or the Australian Tax Office.

Multiply the number of weeks in a term by the per-term lesson rate to calculate your payment.

Cancellations
Pay-as-you-go students: 24 hours’ notice to cancel without charge; make-up lesson available that week; max 2 cancellations per term.
Term-paying students: 24 hours’ notice for a make-up within the same term; max 2 per term; further cancellations forfeited.
